Concrete wall and light wood for the interior and facade of a house

Concrete walls are by no means uncommon in modern facilities. They exude minimalism and a certain industrial charm and are often used as a neutral background in interior design to highlight colored accents particularly well. But also in combination with neutral furnishings and decorations, the concrete wall creates a perfect ambience that is not only homely, but also inviting.

Concrete wall indoors

The house that we would like to introduce to you in this article also uses this type of wall design for indoor use. It is located in Atherton, California and was designed by arcanum architecture, inc. designed. Modern designs and cosiness can not only be found inside, but also in the entire outdoor area.

The rooms in which there are no concrete-look walls instead have gray-colored furniture that has the same attractive and elegant look. Combined with light wooden furniture, the result is a modern and elegant-looking design for the interior that offers the best comfort and cosiness.

There is also a lack of concrete walls in the bedroom, but not modern designs. Large window fronts, together with the built-in fireplace, ensure cosiness and the best possible relaxation with a view of the garden. A wall niche was used perfectly to provide storage space in the form of a built-in wardrobe and shelves.

In contrast to the living rooms, the concrete look was used in abundance for the wall in the bathroom. In addition to the modern look, this type of wall design in the bathroom has another advantage. The modern concrete wall saves on tiles. The wet room is spacious and invites you to a relaxing shower experience, whereby the small niche can be used as a storage area.

But the concrete look of the wall is by no means all that impresses the bathroom. There is also a large, modern wash cabinet made of light wood, as well as a relaxing bathtub with a modern shape. Also worth mentioning are the large window fronts, which can also be found in this room and which are otherwise rather untypical for bathrooms. They provide the room, which would appear darker due to any concrete wall, with sufficient light. Pendant lights in front of the mirror not only create the perfect lighting, but also represent a beautiful decoration.

Outdoor concrete

The concrete wall can also be found here and there outdoors. But first we will show you the terrace with roofing and supporting and partition wall with chimney, which can be reached through the large sliding windows. It consists of a cozy lounge area and a dining area with a large dining table that offers space for many guests.

The attractive pool area, which is framed by paving stones, concrete slabs and a lawn, is also nearby. Here, too, there is a small seating area with a table and chairs, which offers the opportunity for a chat by the pool and in the sun. From here you also get a great view of the house and most of the garden.

The garden is characterized by a beautiful design with different plants. The jetty that leads to the pool area has a romantic effect and is also adorned with various types of grass, which are typical for modern garden design. This creates the impression that there is a pond or even a lake. There is also no lack of trees and bushes in the outdoor area.

The concrete look wall is outside in the form of a wall. This is part of the irregular facade of the modern house and is combined with surfaces made of wood for the canopy and the privacy and sun protection made of strips, as well as with white plaster. A contrast is achieved here and there through the planting. An example is the bed in the picture on the right, which is located directly in front of the gray wall.

A contrast is also created by house and garden design in general. While the house is very modern and minimalist, the garden has been designed to be as natural as possible. One reason for this was that the existing trees should be retained and should fit the overall appearance of the outdoor area. The garden could have a more relaxing look?

Here you can see the house again from the front, i.e. on the side of the driveway. This is spacious and simply made of gray paving stone, but looks very inviting, especially in combination with the greenery. Pleasant lighting in the evenings and at night was also provided so that the outdoor area can be enjoyed at any time.
