The right sauce makes the healthy snack really tasty, so that even the greatest enemies of vegetables will enjoy it. We have therefore put together some great ideas and recipes for a kid-friendly vegetable platter with dip that you can try. Try it out on your children before the party!

If you are looking for quick dips, this is a good option, as you can use ready-made hummus from the supermarket for it. Of course, you can also make the hummus yourself and make the complete vegetable platter with dip for children. The shape of the lion will appeal to the little bullies in particular.

  • 6 large carrots
  • 2 yellow peppers
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 small yam bean
  • 280 g of hummus
  • 3 large black olives
  • 8 fresh leaves of chives

Instructions for a vegetable platter with a dip in the shape of a lion

Wash and peel the carrots and cut them into thin sticks with a pointed end. Repeat the same thing with the yellow bell pepper and with the yam bean, but set a larger piece aside for the lion’s face. Place a bowl in the middle of a large plate and fill it with the hummus (or put the hummus and its packaging on the plate).

Spread the vegetable sticks around them in about three layers, starting with the longer ones and arranging the short yam bean sticks last. Cut a triangular or heart-shaped piece from the red pepper for the nose. First cut two slices from the rest of the yam bean and then use a cookie cutter to cut two circles of the same size and from the olives two rings for the eyes. You will also need two thin strips from an olive for the snapdragon.

Arrange the vegetables in the same order, trying to use different vegetables for each color. For example, if you have taken yellow peppers, try not to combine them with orange and yellow peppers, but rather with carrots and red tomatoes, for example.

  • 250 g Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried chives
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 60 ml of milk

Mix all ingredients in a bowl except for the milk. Then gradually add the milk until you get the consistency you want. This goes well with orange and yellow peppers, as well as cucumber and tomato. Serve the vegetable dips on the vegetable platter with dip, for example in colorful muffin tins.

  • 1 ripe avocado, mashed
  • 3 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lime or lemon juice
  • 1 clove of garlic, chopped
  • Olive oil at will

Mix all ingredients together and serve with any vegetables for dipping. Do not store the avocado dip for longer than half a day.

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix the ingredients for the vegetable stick dip in a blender or by hand in a bowl. You can serve both raw and steamed vegetables. Arrange the vegetable platter with a colorful dip.

  • 250 g quark
  • 1 bunch of chives
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 70 g cucumber
  • 1 pinch of pepper

  • any fresh herbs

Cut the vegetables and herbs as finely as possible (it is best to mash the garlic) and mix everything with the quark. Taste with the spices. You can also add a medium onion if you want. However, keep in mind that not every child will like the spiciness.

You can prepare cream cheese dips recipes with a little lower calorie content by replacing half of the cream cheese from the recipe with low-fat quark.

  • 300 g cream cheese (or 150 g cream cheese and 150 g low-fat quark)
  • 1/2 bunch of chives
  • 1/2 bunch of parsley
  • salt and pepper
  • optional: 1/2 bunch of chervil

Wash and finely chop the herbs (set aside the chervil), stir the cream cheese in a bowl until smooth and mix with the herbs. Season to taste with pepper and salt and garnish with chervil if you like.

  • 1 butternut squash, pitted and diced
  • 60 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 100 ml of olive oil

Steam the pumpkin cubes until they are soft and cooked through. Then process all the ingredients into a puree and keep the dip in the refrigerator until serving.
