Halloween pizza – the dough
If the Halloween pizza is to be prepared particularly quickly, you can use frozen pizza dough and save yourself the time to prepare the dough. Nowadays, frozen dough can be delicious too, so if you’ve already found a good brand, feel free to use them.
However, if you would like to prepare a delicious pizza dough yourself, you can choose between dough with and without yeast. We have quick recipe ideas for both variants that you can use if you haven’t found a pizza dough recipe yet. We start with a dough with yeast:
For approx. 4 servings:
- 450 g flour
- 1/2 cube of yeast (approx. 21 g)
- 250 ml of water
- 15 g of salt
- 1 pinch of sugar
- 15 ml of olive oil
Sift the flour into a bowl. Mix the remaining ingredients in a separate bowl and then add to the flour. Knead a smooth dough, but don’t overdo it with the kneading time. Divide the dough into 4 smaller balls, oil them lightly, then cover them and place them in a warm place where the dough can stand for 2 to 3 hours. Then you can roll out the pizza base and cover it as you like.
Halloween pizza dough Recipe without yeast for 1 baking sheet:
- 400 g of flour
- 260 ml of water
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
Milk can also be used instead of water. First, put the flour and baking powder in a bowl and mix them together well. Then add the remaining ingredients and knead a smooth dough. Since baking powder does not have to steep, you can process the dough immediately and save yourself the waiting time. Roll out the dough and top it with your favorite ingredients.
Roll out and cover
No matter which recipe for Halloween party you choose, the extra fun part is coming now. You can now roll out and top the dough as you wish. Choose the shape of the classic pizza or prepare mini pizzas. You can also shape the dough like pumpkins or skulls. You can let your imagination run wild and your children will surely be happy to help prepare the Halloween pizza.
Prepare the mummy
Would you like a mummy like the one in the picture above? Cut out two oval-shaped pieces of dough of roughly the same size. Cover one of the two and cover it with the other. Roll up the edges lightly so that the topping does not run out. You get a kind of pizza calzone, so to speak. Now you still need a few strips of dough that you can use to imitate the bandage.
Place them over the oval shape, cutting off the excess, leaving an area for the eyes. For the eyes, just use two rings of olives (different sizes work even better). Brush the dough with egg yolks and you’re ready to bake the mummy pizza.
More design ideas
Otherwise, you can easily play with the topping and create motifs that go perfectly with Halloween. For the Halloween pizza, for example, you can look for suitable cookie cutters (e.g. ghosts) and use them to cut shapes out of cheese and then distribute them over the dough. You can make spiders with olives.
Also with cheese or with mayonnaise or another white sauce, a spider web can be painted on the Halloween pizza. If you are using sauce, it is best to do so after baking. The Pennywise Pizza is a true work of art, for the design of which only different toppings were used. Would you like more ideas from which you can be inspired? Take a look at our pictures!
Sweet Halloween pizza
It doesn’t have to be the classic hearty pizza. As a dessert or for a children’s party on Halloween, you can also choose a sweet alternative. Isn’t the Halloween pizza from the picture above extremely original and beautiful to look at? You can prepare them using the following ingredients:
- Ready-made dough for cookies or homemade dough
- different Halloween sweets
- 350 g dark chocolate pieces
- 3 tbsp peanut butter
Ideas with jam and marshmallows
Roll out the cookie dough as you like and bake it according to the instructions on the packaging. In the meantime, chop up larger sweets and prepare the chocolate cream. To do this, melt the chocolate chips and peanut butter in the microwave (be careful not to burn anything) or in a water bath. Spread the chocolate-peanut cream on the finished dough and the sweets over it. Put the Halloween pizza in the refrigerator until the chocolate is set.
