How to cook quinoa properly:
Since saponins adhere to quinoa, which taste bitter, you need to wash them off properly before cooking. Put the gluten-free pseudo-grain in a sieve and rinse it thoroughly under running water. Drain the quinoa.
Put the quinoa in a saucepan and cover the grains with twice the amount of water. The perfect mixing ratio of water and quinoa is 2: 1.
Bring the water to a boil and then turn the heat down to low.
Let the quinoa simmer until all the water has been absorbed. Depending on the amount, the cooking time is 10-20 minutes. The grains should have a slightly glassy structure.
Take the pot off the stove.
Cover the cooked quinoa and let it steep for 5 minutes.
Fluff the quinoa with a fork because it tends to get lumpy after straining.
Finally, season with salt and pepper.
The quinoa can then be further processed as desired or served as an accompaniment to various dishes.
