Wow. I really do love this collection. I love to way some of these dresses flare out and how sleek and slim some others are. I also really like the inspiration from Spain that came to this collection. The Oscar de la Renta Spring/Summer 2016 collection is full of artful pieces and I don’t see any outfits that are there just to make the crowd go “ooh”.
Take this dress below for example.
I absolutely love the way the top is draped over her shoulder. It’s a clever nod a los matadores de las corridas de toros (bull tamers). The floral designs on this also make it a beautiful piece and blends well with the lace that we’ve seen pop up everywhere.
The next dress from Oscar de la Renta also showcases the ever so popular lace, but it does it well.
Again, the floral design are quite nice, but what stands out to me here is the way that the lace comes up to her neck. It’s a complex dress with a sleek silhouette and I am loving the cut off sleeves here.
Here is one more outfit I liked.
I mentioned earlier that there was a lot of inspiration from Spain, but that’s a lot more interesting to hear when Peter Copping, Creative Director of Oscar de la Renta, says it himself in a short interview with Vogue (video below).
You can also shop the entire collection here.
This is collection is beautiful and you can see the hard work that Peter Copping put into designing these pieces. The Oscar de la Renta Spring/Summer 2016 collection is amazing and you should go look at the full gallery on Vogue.
