This modern Triplex apartment in Prague is a project of B2 Architecture and was completed in 2013. It was created after the renovation of a former industrial building in the Karlin district. Some of the building’s original features and character have been retained while other modern accents create a nice contrast.
Triplex apartment in Prague with a stylish industrial interior
The modern apartment is located in Cornlofts, a former industrial building in Prague’s Karlin district. It was converted for residential purposes and is based on the design by Baumschlager Eberle Architects from Vienna. The interior design experiments with unconventional solutions and tries to maximize the living space and the natural light. Parts of the original floor plate have been removed and replaced with new glass plates. As a result, unexpected sights arise between the levels. The rooms are also visually enlarged and the amount of natural light in the interior is increased.
Triplex apartment in Prague – vintage and modern made-to-measure furniture
The main goal of the apartment renovation was to combine the original industrial look with a contemporary design and new materials. The first floor contains the entrance hall with a bespoke closet, the owner’s music studio, a children’s room and a guest bedroom with bathroom. The second floor has a public character. On one side there is an open office with a skylight and a view of a staircase that connects the three levels of the triplex apartment. On the other side there is a small lounge area that is visually connected by the partially glazed floor slab.
