Neon yellow as a refreshing accent color in the child-friendly “Happy Place”

Studio Architecture & Design O.M.SHUMELDA designed a unique and particularly child-friendly interior for an apartment in Lviv, Ukraine. “Happy Place” is a combination of cozy living architecture and modern interior solutions. The cozy apartment, which extends over a total area of ​​260 m2, has its own character, style and focus. Accents in neon yellow give the interior a unique and modern touch.

The premises are spread over three floors. The kitchen, living room and toilet are on the first floor. On the second floor there are two children’s rooms, a walk-in closet, a bedroom, bathroom and toilet. On the third floor there is another walk-in closet, a toilet and the home cinema.

The indoor area is specially designed for a young family with children. Here the family members have the opportunity to immerse themselves in their own world and to relax from the noisy city life.

In this modern apartment you have everything you need. A cozy corner for family celebrations near the fireplace, a spacious kitchen that merges seamlessly into the dining room, a lounge for those long hours spent with good friends and even a swing where you can relax with your favorite book. The highlight of this project is the children’s realm “Happy Place” for children, in which parents do not restrict the space for children’s fantasies and games. A lounge attic, where family evenings with movies and parties with friends are held, is also available to the family.

For the interior design, the designers opted for natural materials and neutral colors. Black and white contrasts were paired with geometric figures in several rooms, creating a great 3D effect. Furniture, floor and roof beams made of light wood and the predominantly white, straight surfaces create a calm, contemporary and cozy ambience.

In contrast to the other living rooms, the two fantastically beautiful children’s rooms have been enriched with additional colors and thus transformed into a child-friendly feel-good area. Neon yellow and olive green add a stylish touch and break through the white furnishings. Skillfully used accents in bright neon yellow freshen up the individual living areas. Neon yellow is an excellent choice of colors by interior designers for children’s rooms. The neon yellow color has a stimulating and activating effect. In “Happy Pace” the team from O.M.SHUMELDA used it in a measured way, but with an impressive effect.

The interplay of pure white and glowing neon creates cheerful, summery freshness and makes the room look open, spacious and bright. Neon yellow adorns the walls and floor in the bathroom. The stairs in the fascinating children’s area as well as various textiles such as towels, decorative pillows and the edges of the mattress covers in the play area also light up in great neon yellow. The color exudes a good mood and undoubtedly creates an individual and tasteful interior design.
