L’Armoire – solid wood wardrobe in a warm wood tone
Of the Solid wood wardrobe is a design for meta- 210 cm high, 110 wide and 80 cm deep. The curvaceous silhouette was inspired by the sculptural beauty of 18th century furniture. Tord Boontje has dedicated more than 2000 hours of work to this extraordinary piece of furniture.
Solid wood wardrobe design
Of the Solid wood wardrobe has a secret – in fact, not just one. Handcrafted and veneered in the finest traditional style of the 18th century, the cabinet has 3 additional drawers hidden somewhere. Different types of wood from the Dalbergia family were used for production. The veneers for the complicated geometry are hand-sawn from cocobolo wood. The drawers are made of padouk – a hard and medium-weight wood with a characteristic dark color and grain in the structure.
The wardrobe is absolutely comfortable and functional
The glossy, lightly structured surfaces in a warm wood tone can be ideally adapted to customer requirements. The cabinet doors are opened by a mechanism. L’Armoire is much more of a work of art than a piece of furniture
