Modular sofa Design Circle by Walter Knoll – the modern classic
Circle Sofa design is one of the most important creations that has had a great influence on the design scene in recent years. Characterized by a soft, flowing design language, the modular seating group represents a flexible furnishing solution for the modern apartment.
Sofa design offers individual combination options
The wave-like shapes create a flowing look. The ergonomically shaped surface hugs the human body anatomically. The Circle Sofa design consists of 4 to 6 module parts, with which different configurations can be formed – semicircle, full circle, open variant, etc. The elements are available in 2 versions – turned inwards and outwards. Color variations that affect the room in different ways are possible.
Fluid design provides fun and relaxation
The unique combination of convex and concave lines creates an atmospheric spatial sculpture. The slight inclination of the backrest gradually changes backwards with a constant backrest height – which makes the sofa ideal for relaxed sitting or lying down. Circle Sofa design is suitable as waiting furniture for public spaces or as a lounge sofa for private spaces.
The modular furniture is used in a variety of ways
The modular elements meander through the room and become real eye-catchers. Circle sofa with steel construction and filling with cold foam with cotton wool cover was the result of the cooperation between UNStudio and Walter Knoll. The design by Ben van Berkel for the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart was awarded the 2007 Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany. In 2013 the modular sofa was shown at Tortona Design Week in Milan.
