The restored chairs design classics were presented earlier this year in Milan during Milan Design Week in the MC Selvini showroom. Exhibited in the Silvera showroom during the Paris Design Week on September 17th in France. Among them you will find unmistakable pieces that revolutionized the design world.
An exhibition with Wegner’s models is currently on view in the Design Museum in Copenhagen.
Chairs design classics by Hans J Wegner
The internationally known and probably successful Wegner chair – “The Chair” from 1949 has already been produced in a limited edition – 100 pieces made of oak and 100 pieces made of ash. The chair with a woven seat and a sturdy solid wood frame is still very popular in the United States. In the past, this provoked the first overseas report on Danish design in American Interiors magazine and provided modern seating for John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon during the first televised election debate in 1960. The “Chair” inspired thousands of designers worldwide.

The yellow Peacock upholstered chair is a version of the 1947 design classic PP550 Peacock Chair, which was never produced. Wegner reinterpreted the design, keeping the design language. The back is covered with fabric and the armrests and headrest with black leather.

Designed in 1954, the PP530 Tub Chair takes classic shell chair design to a new level. Today, thanks to the latest technologies, the futuristic concept at that time has finally been made. Tub Chair is made of molded plywood, solid wood and has an adjustable backrest that offers 3 seating positions.
