I love H&M but I’ve never really paid attention to Balmain or any of its shows so when I heard that the Balmain x H&M Lookbook was released, I had to see what the collection looked like. I’ve also taken a look at the Balmain Spring/Summer 2016 collection and I can see Balmain’s design in their new collaboration. I like it, but it also kind of reminds me of the Versace. Nonetheless, it still looks amazing so let’s take a look at some of my favorite outfits from the collection.
This first outfit is quite nice and with a casually formal look to it.
The dress seems formal but the jacket makes it a little casual. Usually jackets make things a little more formal but not here. It’s because the jacket is just a little too loud for a formal situation and formal jackets are usually more minimalistic. If she took the jacket off she’d be ready for a date or a night out.
This next outfit is a perfect example of how this collection reminds me of Versace.
The design on this shirt reminds me of Versace’s Barocco print. Not to mention all that gold. Versace loves to use gold and that’s pretty much the only color you’ll find the Barocco print in. Regardless, this still seems like something you’d get from H&M and it looks amazing.
These outfits look like another casual take on a formal look but they are very chic.
I like these outfits because they seem like they’d be perfect for a day out shopping in New York. It’s one of those outfits you put on when you’re going to be out all day but you want to look amazing. The only thing I don’t like is the amount of jewelry they have on. Those pants look nice as well.
Those are a few of the many outfits that Balmain and H&M made but you can see the full gallery here as well as a men’s collection from the same collection that you can see here. This collaboration is a great and I love it when luxury brands work with non luxury brands. It gives those who can’t afford luxury clothing the chance to wear the designs of their favorite brands.
