Fashion trends for autumn and winter: red, plaid and animal prints are the must-haves!

Trend colors for autumn and winter Bright red, paprika red, chilli pepper red

The sky may be gray, but fashion remains colorful – and beastly. Coats with a leopard print, trousers and blouses with a snake print and matching shoes are real eye-catchers in the autumn / winter season 2018/19. If that’s too wild for you, you can opt for tartan instead for coats, pants, ankle boots, scarves and gloves. From the large tartan to the fine glencheck, the classic among the patterns has returned to the catwalks. We have put together even more fashion trends for the cold season and how to wear the wild patterns now.

In terms of color, nature is trendy, with earthy tones such as terracotta, brown and beige in various shades, but also bright paprika red, chilli pepper red or pistachio green. The desire for more than just gray and black has been going on for a long time. On the fashion platform Lyst the keywords pink, yellow and red were asked together 138 percent more often in 2017. Checks are also no surprise on the list, checked blazers were already one of the most popular items of clothing in September 2017, which is proof of the longevity of the classic.

But while tartan and glencheck are suitable for almost every situation, not all of the new trendsetters can be easily adapted to every occasion. More can quickly become too much, and instead of wrapping yourself from head to toe in a leopard print, zebra or snake look, one piece is usually enough to catch the eye. If an animal print dress or a shell coat is too much of a good thing, you can start discreetly with a bag or ankle boots.

Even when it comes to the trend colors of the season, not everything looks equally good on all women. Red tones are mainly used for tops brunette ideal because they harmonize with dark hair. Red high heels and ankle boots are suitable for every skin type and every hair color. The trendy earth tones can also be complemented with darker hair, regardless of skin tone.

Beige and sand tones suit blondes. However, in the case of light skin, care should be taken to choose a light shade with a grayish note if possible. Cool blondes can also go for the red tones and the trendy pistachio green, while blondes with warm skin types usually look better in olive and cream tones.

Since most naturally red-haired women have a fair complexion, earth tones suit them, but also nude tones and greens. Red and pink also go with red hair, but it has to be the right shade. But then the effect is huge.

The right styling makes a big difference. If you wear the striking leopard coat, you can make it look casual by combining it with jeans and rough boots, while a figure-hugging dress in an earthy or nude shade underneath provides elegance.

Animal print dresses are real eye-catchers from the start and don’t need any other eye-catching accessories. A blouse with an animal pattern is also best combined with jeans, classically cut trousers or a simple skirt. But it can be worn from the office to the party night.

Hardly any well-known designer has done without animal influences this season. From Tom Ford to Calvin Klein to Diane von Fürstenberg and Victoria Beckham, animal prints can be seen everywhere on the catwalk, and street fashion is also colorful and wild this autumn and winter, no matter how cloudy the weather is.
