Handicrafts with tissue paper for Easter and spring – great ideas for children
Tissue paper is classic for making pompoms. However, there are numerous craft techniques that can be implemented with this soft paper. Here we have put together some great ideas and suggestions for handicrafts with tissue paper that children are welcome to imitate at Easter and spring. Fresh colors and fun spring motifs ensure a good mood!
Tissue paper as a craft material
Tissue paper, also known as packing silk, is a wonderfully soft and thin paper that can be used in many creative ways. The fine, transparent paper is easy to crumple and is available in all possible colors. However, it can also be easily colored and printed. With these colorful, self-made accessories made of tissue paper, children can decorate the classroom or their own home!
Window decoration made of tissue paper: make sun catchers
Due to its slightly transparent structure, the noble tissue paper is ideal for making window decorations. These beautiful mosaic-like window pictures, for example, are called “suncatchers” because they let colorful light shine through when the sun is shining and create beautiful plays of light on the window. Butterflies, tulips, ladybugs, birds, Easter bunnies, Easter eggs – there are numerous spring motifs that can be tinkered with.
There are different ways to tinker the sun catchers. You can either stick the selected template on a self-adhesive book foil or simply use another transparent material as a basis. Cut the tissue paper into mosaic-like pieces and distribute them on the template. The pieces of paper should overlap slightly. Take a second piece of book film, peel off the backing paper and place it with the adhesive side down on the motif. Cut off the excess and you’re done!
The little ones can make crumpled pictures
Crumpled pictures can be made by children from 2-3 years of age. However, adult help is required when cutting the paper into small pieces and sticking it on. A few preprinted motifs are provided for the children to stick on. The little ones shape the pieces of paper into small balls and then glue them onto the picture carrier. The colorful paper balls create interesting and beautiful effects.
Spring decoration for your home or jewelry for the Easter tree
The little decorators can also decorate the Easter tree with self-made pendants made of tissue paper and clothespins.
That is how it goes:
– First cut the paper into squares. Here three different colors have been used for each butterfly.
– Attach the pins with colored ball heads as antennas to the clothes peg. The fluffy pipe cleaners are a good alternative.
– Place the three sheets of tissue paper on top of each other and fasten the clothespin in the middle.
– Finally, paint the eyes and mouth with a felt pen.
Have fun tinkering!
