Casa Lomas 2 is the name of the new renovation project by the architects of Paola Calzada. The domicile of a large family was originally built in 1976 and was even then ahead of its time. The flat roof house opens to the east through a richly glazed facade and is at the same time shielded from the street by a high concrete wall. A beautiful modern family house with only one disadvantage – unfavorable floor plan. The architects from Paola Calzada were therefore commissioned with the task of designing an open interior space and creating a seamless connection between the house and the garden.
Modern single-family house with glass facade opens to the garden
First, the architects created a seamless transition between the two floors. On the first floor, an open plan living area has been created that houses the kitchen, dining room and living room. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors connect the inside with the outside area. A small spiral staircase leads to the second floor where the bedrooms and bathrooms are located. The private area is shielded from prying eyes by interior concrete walls. It is a modern family house, where family members can enjoy being together.
Modern family home – new furnishings in neutral colors
It was furnished with modern furniture from Italy with clear lines and neutral colors. Beige and olive green make the interior look cozy and create a visual connection to the garden. Decorative pillows, hand-woven carpets in an oriental style, opulent chandeliers and home accessories bring splashes of color into the room.
