The architecture office Gao Architects designed this modern home furnishings, based on a story. The project reflects the urban, dynamic and creative lifestyle in the city of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The interior designers have associated the colors and liveliness of the passing trains with an industrial-looking loft design, which, with its various decorative elements, corresponds to the modern way of life.

The living area was designed to be open and separated from the hallway by a slightly transparent partition. The oak kitchen island in the kitchen-living room is absolutely the heart of the apartment. Its construction makes it a multifunctional element that not only offers a surface for cooking and serving, but can also serve as an entertainment area. The kitchen then opens to the living-dining room where the dark color palette continues. From here you have access to a large terrace. It was inspired by the Japanese gardens. The old wooden slats are used as stepping stones and a kind of platform so that the fragile pebble decoration is not damaged. The facade cladding is done in the same dark tones that can be seen in the interior. This serves as a connecting element for the indoor and outdoor area.

The private area of the apartment is divided into three separate rooms – the bedroom, a guest room and a smaller bedroom ideal for teenagers or children. The walls in the hallway are papered with birch motifs. These elements ensure a smooth transition from the public to the private part of the apartment.

Each of the small private rooms has its own character and unique features, but they are in harmony. All are connected to two large bathrooms and two wardrobes in the hallway. All works of art and various artistic details in the apartment are drafts by Slovenian photographers and designers. The overall picture of this city apartment with a view of the Ljubljana Castle and the slowly passing trains dressed in colorful graffiti fits an artistic, dynamic and modern lifestyle in the capital of Slovenia.
