Make your own balcony decoration – spice up your outdoor area quickly and easily!

If you haven’t started preparing your balcony for summer, you should do so soon. Because the warm summer days are approaching and where can you enjoy the beautiful evening hours better than outside? But for the outside area to be really cozy and tempting, not only the right balcony furniture is important, but also the small details around it – decoration for the balcony gives it the finishing touch! If you want to decorate the balcony, you will of course find an infinite selection of options in stores. But if you would prefer something unique and also love to do handicrafts and work, you can also make your balcony decoration yourself. And we’re going to provide you with some great ideas today!

Balcony decoration with light

If you would like to illuminate the balcony with your decoration at the same time, we recommend you to use candles in lanterns (you will find an idea below) and fairy lights. The easiest option is of course to buy a chain of lights for the balcony decoration and simply attach it. But everyone can have one. Instead, we offer you this balcony decoration idea. Just buy a simple string of lights and glass bottles with corks as closures. Pierce the corks with a pick or other sharp object and insert the lightbulbs through the hole until you can see it on the other side (inside the bottle). Balcony decoration for the wall with hula hoop

A simple hula hoop is a wonderful basis for decoration ideas to make yourself for the balcony. Pallets are very popular for this purpose, but they can be quite heavy. A practical alternative is such a slatted frame for beds. Since the walls on the balcony are usually not too large, a grate is most suitable for children’s beds. Simply hang it on the wall at the desired height and you can easily hang any decorations such as plants, pendants, and even shelves and easily exchange or add them at any time. A really simple idea that you can make yourself as a balcony decoration without having to be technically gifted.

Homemade easel

Get a few wooden strips at the hardware store (you can also have them cut to size on site) and use them to build a wooden easel or ladder on which you can hang flower pots and other things. Paint the panels in the color you want. After the paint has dried, you can tie the string. Prepare four long pieces (rather too long, you can shorten them afterwards). Put them through the four holes and tie knots below the plate. Then tie knots at any distance from the first plate, after which you thread the next plate. Keep doing this until you have joined all of the panels together. Then tie the four cords together at the top. complete!

Use waste wood for planters

Regardless of whether you use old wood or buy new strips, such planters will be real eye-catchers on your balcony!
