Why A Zara Bucket Bag Will Be My Next Handbag

Bucket bags are quite popular these days, especially those by Mansur Gavriel. The bags by Mansur Gavriel are sold out everywhere, though, so if you want a bucket bag you have to either get one used or get it from a different brand. I’m going to get one from Zara, regardless of its resemblance to Mansur Gavriel’s bag, as a used on from Mansur Gavriel will still be too much money.

A couple of months ago, I wrote about how inspired handbags from affordable brands copy luxury bags too much. For example, the Louis Vuitton Alma is copied by the Guess Amy Quattro Dome Satchel. I then argued in favor of those handbags as many people may not have enough money to buy luxury handbags and inspired handbags from affordable brands gives them a way to own these styles for less money. That is why I’m going to buy a bucket bag from Zara.

The Zara bucket bag is inspired by the Mansur Gavriel bucket bag as it looks quite similar but there are some things it has cosmetically that the Mansur Gavriel bag doesn’t. For example, the leather drawstring on the Zara bag has small hardware attachments on it and the Mansur Gavriel bag does not. The shoulder strap is also attached by two pieces of metal instead of being sewed on.

Regardless of those small differences, the style and color of the bag makes it obvious that it was inspired by the Mansur Gavriel bag but Zara did a good job of keeping all the good things about the Mansur Gavriel bag. They kept it simple instead of doing what most affordable handbags do and add too many details to it. They kept the beautiful smooth leather look of the original bag even if the this bag is made with faux leather.

Another good thing about this bag is that it isn’t too big. The day after Christmas, my husband and I went to the store to see some luxury bags and I stopped at Zara and saw this. I tried it on and the size was perfect. The shoulder strap worked well too as it is long enough for me to use as a crossbody bag.

This bag may be too similar to the Mansur Gavriel bag for some, but as I said before, not everyone can afford to by luxury handbags. This handbag is minimalistic, the shoulder strap is great, and the leather still looks beautiful even though it’s faux leather. This bag is perfect for me and it will be my next handbag.

So, what do you think? Is this a beautiful handbag or does it copy the Mansur Gavriel bag too much? Let me know in the comments below. Also, don’t forget to subscribe to get new posts sent directly to your inbox and follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat.
