Every year the CFDA and Vogue hold a contest in which new fashion designers compete to win a $400,000 prize, mentorship, and recognition from the industry. The show started as a web series a few years ago and restarted as a TV series in 2014. This year the show is available on YouTube this year and you can watch it here.

CFDA President Diane Von Furstenberg is joined by Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour, Jenna Lyons of J Crew, and other notable individuals in fashion to judge the performance of six finalist.

Thousands of designers apply for the fashion fund a year and only 10 are chosen to compete. After having been chosen and notified, the 10 finalists must pitch their brand to the judges. Finalist have 15 minutes to show a few looks and products to the judges, tell them what the brand is about, and answer questions related to the brand, business, and more.

After pitching their brand, the finalists must complete a few challenges. This year’s challenges include a design challenge, a photo and “stories” challenge for Instagram, and a runway show.
