The Best of Haute Écriture this Month

Hey everyone. It’s the last Saturday of the month and, as always, that means it’s time for the Best of Haute Écriture. If you’re new, the Best of Haute Écriture is a post series in which I gather my top 3 favorite post of the month, news from around the web, videos, and fashion articles. There has been a lot going on in the industry this month, especially with fashion week having begun this month so let’s get started with this month’s the Best of Haute Écriture.

Next Burberry Collections to be Available After Shows


Earlier this month Burberry, along with a couple of other brands, announced that they will be adopting a “see now, buy now” business model for it’s shows during London Fashion Week. What this means is that they will no longer show collections six months ahead of release and will instead show them in their current season. What’s more, the collections will be available at the show, in stores, and online immediately after they are shown on the runway.

Phoebe Philo is Not Leaving Céline


In October of last year, when we heard the news that Alber Elbaz was fired from Lanvin, the New York Times said there were rumors that Phoebe Philo, creative director of Céline, would be leaving the brand. Then, staff members at WWD saw an internal memo that was signed by Marco Gobbetti, CEO of Céline, and Philo that said Philo would not be leaving the brand and that she and the brand “are more motivated and committed than ever to their partnership and will continue to create beautiful products.”

Mansur Gavriel Reveals New Bags and More Shoe Styles


Mansur Gavriel released it first shoe collection in Net-A-Porter just before Valentine’s Day but about a week after that the brand revealed new handbags and even more shoe styles. The new bag come in calfskin, patent leather, and suede with this being the first time Mansur Gavriel has ever used calfskin and patent leather and the first time the bucket bag has ever been available in suede. The collection will again be available on Net-A-Porter again but will also be available for purchase at Bergdorf Goodman, Colette, and a few other luxury retailers.
