It’s the last Saturday of the month which means it’s time for the Best of Haute Écriture. If you’re new, the Best of Haute Écriture is an article series that I post on the last Saturday of every month in which I gather my top 3 favorite posts, the best news stories, videos, and more. Burberry Rejects Several Bids From Coach to Buy Brand

Burberry was all over fashion news when it rejected several offers from Coach to buy the brand. The market value of the deal would have apparently been more than $20 million. It would have brought both brands together as well as shoe make Stuart Weitzman. Offers and proposals from Coach indicated a cash and stock takeover of the London luxury brand. The companies are no longer in talks about the offers, though, and they are not expected to be any time soon.

Jeans are the most popular kind of pants in the United States. Everyone wears them. Everyone also spends money on a couple of new pairs every year. That, however, isn’t necessary; at least for men. Men only need three pairs of jeans in three different fits in their wardrobe and I’ve listed them as well as what colors to get and what to wear them with.

Magazine Cover Diversity Report 2016

Fashionista does a magazine cover diversity report every year. This year the online fashion publication reviewed 147 covers from 10 leading U.S. fashion magazines. Last year’s report showed that magazines did not improve in 2015. This year, however, magazines improved greatly. In 2015, 27 of the 137 covers reviewed featured non-white people while the year before 27 out of 136 did. It was an improvement but a small one going from 19.7% to 19.8%. This year, Fashionista reviewed covers from the same magazines they did last year and found that 53 of 147 covers featured non-white people. That’s 36% compared to last year’s 19.8%, which is a 16.9% increase.
