Riccardo Tisci has released a new logo and monogram for Burberry.
According to an article on Fashionista, Riccardo Tisci has released a new logo and monogram for the London luxury brand. The logo and monogram were designed by Peter Saville in just 4 weeks. They were also inspired by a logo from about 100 years ago and an old monogram.
Tisci released a statement saying, “Peter is one of our generation’s greatest design geniuses. I’m so happy to have collaborated together to reimagine the new visual language for the house.”
Saville also collaborated with Raf Simons to redesign the Calvin Klein logo.
The brand posted a photo (below) on Instagram of the monogram saying, “the #ThomasBurberry Monogram August 2018.”

The brand’s logo reportedly hasn’t been redesigned in almost 20 years. The last logo was designed by Fabian Baron.
The brand joins other brands like Calvin Klein, Balenciaga, Diane von Furstenberg, and more who have released new logos and Chanel, which also released its own monogram earlier this year in March. The new monogram was also probably released because of the monogram trend brands are currently doing. Chloé debuted new logo bags earlier this year in June and Balenciaga released new logo bags in May. Louis Vuitton has been doing more with its monogram as well as Gucci, Fendi, and more.
The brand will probably put the monogram on its handbags and tote bags like the Louis Vuitton Neverfull like most brands with a monogram do. It will probably also put it on its accessories and clothing.
As for is it will put the monogram on its handbags, we’ll just have to wait and see.
