Ricardo Tisci Resigns as Creative Director of Givenchy

Givenchy has announced that Ricardo Tisci has resigned as creative director of the brand after 12 years.

According to an article on WWD, Givenchy has announced that Ricardo Tisci has resigned as creative director of the brand after 12 years with the company. Tisci will not show a collection in March at Paris Fashion Week. His last collection for the brand was the Givenchy Haute Couture 2017 collection and the Givenchy Men’s Fall/Winter 17/18 collection.

Tisci released a statement saying, “I have very special affection for the House of Givenchy and its beautiful teams. I want to thank the LVMH group and Monsieur Bernard Arnault for giving me the platform to express my creativity over the years. I now wish to focus on my personal interests and passions.”

No announcement has been made as to who will replace Tisci but rumors are circulating that he will go to Versace. A couple of weeks ago Tisci was said to be in talks with the brand to replace Donatella Versace. A spokesman, however, released a statement saying, “Donatella Versace is the creative director of the company and at this time we do not have any plans to change that. Beyond that, of course, we do not comment on rumors.”

The spokesman did not say whether the brand has been in talks with Tisci or not.

Versace is still said to be in talks with Tisci, though, now that he has resigned from Givenchy. Versace is reportedly trying to sign a deal with Tisci even though the brand declined to comment, according to an article on WWD.

Givenchy, of course, declined to comment.
