Many companies have been purchasing brands lately. Companies like LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton and Kering are the most well known and always purchase brands but Tapestry Inc. and Michael Kors have been purchasing brand quite a lot since last year. These companies own quite a lot of luxury brands and I’ve written a guide to the companies and brands they own.
LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton
LVMH is one of the most popular companies in fashion. They own quite a few of the most popular luxury brands in the world as well as other retailers, wine companies, fragrances companies, cosmetics brands, jewelry companies, hotel companies, and more. Fashion news publications are always talking about LVMH.
The most notable brands LVMH owns are Louis Vuitton, Céline, Dior, Givenchy, Fendi, Loewe, Marc Jacobs, and DKNY. LVMH also owns retailers Sephora and Le Bon Marché. As for cosmetics and fragrances the most notable companies LVMH owns are Givenchy Parfums, Christian Dior Parfums, Parfums Loewe, and Marc Jacobs Beauty.
Kering owns quite a few brands as well. Some of these brands are also some of the most popular brands in fashion. Kering also owns retailers and wine companies. Fashion news publication are also always talking about Kering as well.
The most notable brands Kering owns are Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Vaneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, and Thomas Maier.
Tapestry Inc. only owns three brands. The company was called Coach Inc. when it only owned Coach and acquired Stuart Weitzman but changed its name to Tapestry Inc. last year in October.
The brands Tapestry Inc. owns are Coach, Stuart Weitzman, and Kate Spade.
Michael Kors only owns three brands as well.
The brands Michael Kors owns are Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo, and Versace.
Those are the biggest parent companies that own some of the most popular fashion brands. There are other parent companies that own popular brands like Chloé and Calvin Klein but they seem to only own a couple and own more wine and jewelry companies. Also, other brands like Chanel are family owned brands, which Versace was until Michael Kors announced it was purchasing the brand earlier this week.
