More Brands are Using “See Now, Buy Now” Business Model

Last year, everyone started talking about the “see now, buy now” business and show model after the CFDA announced that it would be working with Boston Consulting Group to reevaluate fashion week’s schedule. Then many brands began to adopt the business model before the CFDA released their study results. In February, I wrote a guide to “see now, buy now” fashion and a couple of months later I gave you guys an updated guide but now even more brands are adopting the business model and even more people are talking about it so today I’m giving you another guide to the business model.

Balmain to Adopt “See Now, Buy Now” Business Model

Last Month, Balmain’s Olivier Roustieng announced that the brand would adopt the “see now, buy now” business and show model. In an interview with Vogue UK, Roustieng says that the brand will most likely adopt the business model but that “it’s important to keep key pieces that you will sell later and also have pieces that are available immediately after the show,” and that the brand should also have “a mix of price points” as well.

Coach, Diane Von Furtsenberg, and Thom Browne CEOs Talk About the “See Now, Buy Now” Business Model

Coach CEO Victor Luis along with Diane Von Furstenburg CEO Paolo Riva and Thom Browne CEO Rodrigo Bazan were asked about the “See Now, Buy Now” business model during a discussion at the Financial Times Business of Luxury Conference last week. Luis says Coach won’t adopt the business model but both Riva and Bazan both want to use it for their brand’s shows.

Alexander Wang Does “See Now, Buy Now” for Resort 2017

Alexander Wang has announced that he will be using the “See Now, Buy Now” business model for the Resort 2017 collection in which he will show the collection to the press in June but all images and reviews will not be released until the collection ships in November.

Louis Vuitton Adopts “See Now, Buy Now” for Resort 2017

Louis Vuitton showed its Resort 2017 collection last weekend and let customers purchase seven runway bags, including bag from the Resort 2017, collection just a couple of hours after the show. The bags will also be available for purchase in store and for delivery in June 1st.
