Every year, New York brand consultancy Interbrand lists the world’s 100 most valuable brands and Louis Vuitton is the world’s most valuable fashion brand this year.
According to an article on The Business of Fashion, Louis Vuitton is the world’s most valuable fashion brand this year. The brand held its spot from last year and was listed above both Zara and H&M, which were listed as more valuable in valuation and strategy consultancy Brand Finance’s list earlier this year.
Interbrand uses three things to determine a brand’s value including the financial performance of a brand’s products or services, a brand’s ability to get customers to buy their products, and a brand’s ability to command a premium price or secure earnings for the company.
Louis Vuitton came in first as the most valuable fashion brand. H&M came in second while Zara came in third. Other fashion brands listed included Hermès, Gucci, Adidas, Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Burberry, Prada, and Christian Dior.
Global Director Rebecca Robins released a statement saying,
“Louis Vuitton has connected the brand into culture. When we look at Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Hermès what is the magic with these brands? Not only are they going strong operationally, but it’s their relationship between brand and culture and they are doing it in a way that is of the moment and relevant but also sustainable. It’s not a flash-in-the-pan. It’s well thought through, strategically driven and delivered with the strength of their conviction.”
While Louis Vuitton is the world’s most value fashion brand, Nike is still the world’s most valuable apparel brand. The brand came in first on Brand Finance’s list earlier this year in March and Louis Vuitton came in fourth.
Ralph Lauren, which was listed as the least valuable fashion brand last year, isn’t on the list this year.
