According to an article on Racked, J Crew will be selling Madewell clothing in some stores in an attempt to increase sales and profits and make Madewell more popular. The brand will begin selling the clothes in 6 stores.

The stores to begin selling Madewell clothing include boutiques in New York at the Columbus Shops, Tampa and Aventura, Florida, West Des Moines, Iowa, Hanover, New Hampshire, and New Haven, Connecticut. The company may start selling Madewell clothing in other stores as well. The company will include some of Madewell’s branding like denim bars and will sell clothing that compliments the clothes that are already being sold.

The brand is out despite efforts to increase sales and has had declining sales for a while. The clothing was overpriced and customers didn’t like shopping there anymore. The brand lowered prices, however, customers say the quality of the clothing declined as well. Then, Jenna Lyons resigned as creative director of the brand and was replaced by Somsack Sikhounmuong. Afterwards, Millard Drexler resigned as CEO of the brand. Then, Sikhounmuong resigned as creative director of the brand.
