J Crew has been all over fashion news since December last year when the brand was rumored to be in talks with creditors to lower its approximately $2 billion debt. Earlier this year in March, the brand announced declining sales for the fourth fiscal quarter 2016. Then, Jenna Lyons resigned as creative director of the brand after 26 years and was replaced by Somsack Sikhounmuong. A couple of weeks later the brand announced it would cut 250 jobs and close up to 20 stores.

In June, Millard Drexler resigned as CEO of the brand after 14 years and was replaced by James Brett. About a week later the brand announced more plans to lower its debt. The brand also completed an exchange offer in which it will receive $566.5 milllion in cash.

The brand’s joining BOF Careers is just the latest in the brand’s plans to increase sales and profits. The company cut jobs and closed stores but hiring more people will probably make sales and profits increase at the brand.
