Himalayan Hermès Birkin Expected to Sell for Over $500,000

Online retailer Privé Porter says it has a Gris Cendre Diamond Himalayan Crocodile Hermès Birkin 30 that it expects to sell for over $500,000.

According to an article on PurseBlog, online retailer Privé Porter says it has a Gris Cendre Diamond Himalayan Crocodile Hermès Birkin 30 that is expect to sell for over $500,000 at auction. That would break its previous record of $298,000 in 2016.

Birkins have broken records for being the most expensive handbag ever sold before. First the handbags broke records for selling for over $150,000. Then, a Birkin sold at auction for $221,000 in 2015. Privé Porter broke that record selling a Birkin for $298,000 in 2016. Another Birkin broke that record selling for $383,522 last year.

Privé Porter, however, has a bag it says will break that record. The company also says they already received an offer of $500,000 on the bag but decided to auction it instead this fall or winter.

The Gris Cendre Diamond Himalayan Crocodile Birkin 30 is said to be one of the rarest, most difficult to find handbags in the world. This Birkin has 18k white gold hardware with diamonds. The bag was reportedly purchased at an Hermès boutique in Las Vegas for $250,000. The brand is also said to have only made two of these bags. The only other one made was a Gris Cendre Himalayan Crocodile Birkin 35 and that Birkin didn’t have diamonds on it and was sold in Beverly Hills 6 years ago.

There are also rumors that the brand won’t be making any more Gris Cendre Himalayan Birkins. So, this bag will not only be rare but might be the most expensive handbag ever sold for quite a while.
