A lot has been going on in fashion and I’ve listed the best news stories and editorials in this week’s Good Reads.

Clare Waight Keller Is the New Creative Director at Givenchy

Givenchy was all over fashion news when it announced that Clare Waight Keller is the brand’s new creative director. Waight Keller is replacing Riccardo Tisci who has been with the brand for 12 years. Givenchy posted a picture on Instagram announcing the hire of Waight Keller saying, “Clare Waight Keller. New Artistic Director. Shot by Steven Meisel.” No announcements have been made as to when Waight Keller’s first collection for the brand for the brand will be shown. It will probably be the Givenchy Spring/Summer 2018 collection, though, which will be shown at Paris Fashion Week in September.

Neiman Marcus is Up For Sale, According to Insudtry-Wide Reports

Hudson’s Bay, parent company of Saks Fifth Avenue, is in talks with Neiman Marcus to acquire the company. The reports come just after the company reported a 6.1% decline in revenue for Q2. The deal is said the exclude Neiman Marcus’ debt of $4.9 billion. A debt that began declining after the company’s $6 billion acquisition by the Canada Pension Investment Board 4 years ago. Both Hudson’s Bay and Neiman Marcus have not set a date for the sale of the company or its assets, according to an article on WWD. Regardless, the fact that Neiman Marcus is even considering selling the company shows that sales at department stores are still declining as customers shop more online than in stores.

Tom Ford Bids Farewell to See-Now-Buy-Now

Tom Ford was all over fashion news when he announced that he will not show “see now, buy now” collections anymore. Last year in February both Burberry and Tom Ford announced that they would show in season, “see now, buy now” collections. Tom Ford showed his Fall/Winter 16/17 collection in last year September. Now, he will show his Spring/Summer 2018 collection at New York Fashion Week in September.
