Chanel may start selling bags online soon as the brand has redesigned its website to look like an e-commerce site.
According to an article on PurseBlog, Chanel may start selling bags online soon. The brand has redesigned its website to look like an e-commerce site. The website includes many photos of the bags and a lot of details on the bags.
A couple of years ago, President of Fashion Bruno Pavlovsky said the brand plans to start online sales, including its classic handbags, sometime soon. Now he says the brand has no plans to sell its classic bags online. The brand’s website, however, just got redesigned to look like an e-commerce site.
The brand has redesigned its website from a lookbook to one that look similar like an e-commerce site. The website has product pages with many photos of the bags, pricing and sizing information, and lets you pick the leather and color of your bag. The site even has an “add to bag” button.
Céline redesigned its website and launched e-commerce last year in December. Products were, however, only available in France but the brand announced they’d be available in other countries soon.
You can’t buy anything on the website except for cosmetics, fragrances, and sunglasses but those have been available online for a while. Handbags seem to only be available online from websites like eBay and retailers that sell them seem to only be selling vintage bags. You can only get bags directly from the brand and retailers in stores.
Chanel has not yet made any announcements about the redesign of its website.
