Bouchra Jarrar to Leave Lanvin After Just 15 Months

Bouchra Jarrar will reportedly be leaving Lanvin after just 15 months with the brand.

According to an article on WWD, Bouchra Jarrar will reportedly be leaving Lanvin. Jarrar has only been with the brand for 15 months and has only shown two collections for the brand. She will also be leaving before Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2018, according to sources with knowledge of the resignation.

Earlier this year, rumors began circulating that staffers were expecting job cuts because of declining sales in 2016. The company had “appointed advisory firm Long Term Partners to conduct an audit and it is due to present its findings to Lanvin’s board at the end of this month and recommend ways to reduce the company’s cost base,” according to Reuters.

The brand has also been discounting many of its products. Much in the way Aeropostale began discounting its products just after it went bankrupt. Some items have even been discounted to half off. That’s something that luxury brands don’t do. Especially brands with products similar to those of brands like Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, and Dior.


A couple of years ago in October, Alber Elbaz was fired as creative director of Lanvin. Elbaz had reportedly been trying to sell his shares to another company in the

Jarrar replaced Elbaz as creative director of the brand last year in March. There were rumors that she’d replace him a couple of days before the brand made the announcement.

The Spring/Summer 2018 collection will probably be Jarrar’s last collection for the brand.

Lanvin did not respond to requests for comment.
