Alexa Chung has responded to Lucinda Chambers’ comments about her June British Vogue cover.
According to an article on Fashionista, Alexa Chung has responded to Lucinda Chambers’ comments about her June British Vogue cover. Although the model likes the cover, she respects Chambers’ opinion.
Earlier this month Vestoj published an interview in which Chambers says she was fired from British Vogue. She not only talked about how she got fired but she talked about everything from the hiring of Edward Enninful to how uninspiring fashion publications are.
She also made negative comments about the June British Vogue cover with Chung saying, “the June cover with Alexa Chung in a stupid Michael Kors T-shirt is crap. He’s a big advertiser so I knew why I had to do it.”
The interview had been removed a couple of hours after it had been published.
It was speculated that Vestoj and Chambers had received a cease and desist letter from Vogue’s parent company Condé Nast. It was also said Condé Nast could file a lawsuit against Vestoj and Chambers.
Fashionista recently interviewed Chung about her new brand and asked about Chambers’ comments on the Vogue cover.
Chung responded saying,
“I was very honored to be on the cover of that publication. I think we had a lovely shoot and I respect Lucinda a lot. She’s really talented. I think what she was saying was there were better shots from the day that they could’ve used. Once I’m involved in a creative process like that, I will always trust the editor to choose whatever they think feels right so I was very happy with it.”
Chambers has not yet responded to Chung’s comments.
